Rescue Pakistan Youth Foundation came into being in 2010 when the floods hit Pakistan; It was founded by me and a friend of mine. The objective of this NGO comes with its name as it says Rescuing Pakistan by its very own Youth force.
The foundation was basically set up to collect some funds for the victims of Floods, we discovered that we were quite good at it so later we kept operating it throughout 2010 and it is running till now with the support coming from its donors, members, volunteers.
We have done many projects let me give you a brief of what we had been doing.
Flood Relief Efforts: (2010)
Since 2010 till date we have raised more than 100000$ for the Flood Victims. Shelter homes, shops and schools were built in northern areas. Other than that around 300 families were provided monetary assistance so they could start up their business again.
Iftari for Poor: (2011)
In this project we fed almost 1700 needy people in Sialkot with a VIP iftari meal in order to try to eliminate hunger and make them feel blessed. The project was run for 15 days and around 20 volunteers were involved.
30 Days of Bliss: (2011)
It was a 30 days virtual project promoting a reason to live life. Around 500 people were consoled via this project, they were given reasons to live their life and a positive feedback was observed.
Skype for Edvolution in Pakistan: (2011)
A project in which we used Skype to connect with poor slum kids and share what the life of city is like hence spreading awareness and knowledge to remove the gaps. It was 7 days project which was done and completed in 2011.
Japan Floods: (2012)
As soon as floods hit Japan we at Rescue Pakistan geared up for the efforts to help Japan in each and every way we could. We did several Charity fundraisers raising an amount of more than $13000 for Japan. The donation was transferred to our volunteers in Japan who the coordinated with the Red Cross there.
Iftari for Poor: (2012)
This was the continuation of Iftari For Poor 2011. This year much more was achieved. We served around 7500 people throughout the month. Around 50 volunteers worked with us in this project and the project ran for full 30 days of the month.
The project has no time duration and works on basis of need. The aim is to provide some start-up capital to any eligible person to start up his business. 3 people have been helped. They are earning now around 12K per month each.
Rashan Program: (2012-13)
The project has no time duration and works on basis of need. We basically provide a month’s food pack (rashan) to poor deserving families who really need it. 5 families are served via this project since last 5 months.
Fill the Gap: (2012-13)
This project was run throughout the winters. The needy/poor citizens of Sialkot/Islamabad/Lahore were served via this project; they were provided pairs of socks and sweaters so that they could survive the cold season without catching any illness. Again this is a cause to promote happiness and produce smiles. 900+ People were served via this project.
